Dating a younger person?

So I was at a festival, found a few cute guys, I got one of their numbers, and I found out he's a 14 year old in 8th grade and I'm a 16 year old junior in high-school. I know it's not necessarily illegal but is that weird or odd?

It is fine. If you proceed, it probably will not last. However, if it does, in a few years people will not even notice the age difference. Obviously dating is legal. Moreover, should by chance it happen, twenty-six states have "Romeo and Juliet" laws, or close-in-age laws.

Why is there only a 2 year difference but 4 grades apart?

Besides it is only a difference of 3 grades, not 4. Moreover, it would be beneficial to most boys to start school a year older than girls.

It's unusual due to differences in maturity levels. I had 16- and 17-year-old gfs when I was 15, and it worked out OK.
