Is it bad that I'm interested in my guy friend but he's 2 years younger than me?

I have this friend who I've been hanging out with for a little over a year, and we have grown very close to each other, we know everything about each other, and recently we have admitted feelings to eachother though there are some other people who would make it difficult if we dated so we are kinda being private with stuff. And so we have decided to wait for each other till end of highschool/after highschool, currently 2 more years left. Though the problem is, I'm gonna be 18 in September and he turned 16 early in August so we are a month away from being 2 years apart in age. Is this wrong? That I'm interested in someone younger than me. I mean if it was the opposite role gender wise I feel as though it's way more normal. But when it's a girl older than a guy, people look at you funny and call you names. I need someone to tell me if what I'm doing is wrong, I like this guy but if the age thing is too wrong I want to know and maybe tips on how I can help this situation. Thank you

My girlfriend is almost 5 years older than me. Granted I'm 33, so the age difference is less of an issue. If I had to bet, your relationship won't last. Most don't, especially if they happen before college. The only concern I would have is a sexual relationship you might have. If you're in the U. S. make sure your state has Romeo and Juliet laws, otherwise you have to wait until he's legal before having sex.
