I'd say trust. Love can sometimes feel lacking when things get rough, at that time you need to trust for that to come back. However if trust is missing in general it doesn't matter if you loved someone, you can't continue with them because you can't build on them. If you can't believe they mean what they say they mean you don't know if anything your experiencing with them is real, and at that point it may as well not be there.
