Not an easy thing to answer, as everyone, at some point has the same problem. Finding a 'match' for yourself, someone you value and one that values you as a person, in today's society, is a really trial and error process.

I was in the same position as you, at EXACTLY your age - 22 - I was working my way through college at a small trucking company in Ohio. While there, I met and had flings with some of the daughters of the truck drivers that I worked with. That is ONE way of meeting eligible "prospective girlfriends". Remember, that girls your age have the SAME problem as YOU! They are looking for someone they can rely on to be a good friend, and possible 'lover' also... so don't think you are alone in your search.

To have a friend/lover, you have to BE a good friend and possible lover, so keep that in mind when you see and meet girls every day at work, or in school or elsewhere, but for Pete's sake... DON'T LOOK DESPERATE, OR NEEDY... THAT SCARES A GIRL OFF IMMEDIATELY. Be respectful and polite, but also not someone that appears to be desperate or needy in a relationship. Be honest, with and about yourself and to them. Don't be 'pushy' and "persistent' (like in some movies) when asking for and MAYBE being turned down..."I't not a big deal"

Present yourself as someone that has value and self esteem, and don't be desperate.

Get out and socialise, do some people watching, you will soon realise that all shapes and sizes date, get into relationships, get married etc, it’s not like social media where sad fuckwits go on about needing to be perfect. Also be realistic, be socially acceptable, as in nice to chat to, learn how to hold a conversation, inject some humour, be happy, confident.

Young women in their 20s don't try much these days, so it's best not to be ambitious. But if you lower your standards enough, finding "a girlfriend" is easy.
