What was your biggest low in love and what did you learn?

Probably about 5 years ago. That one crushed me. But I think that one taught me to love myself. Before then I don't think I ever did. I think I always measured myself by what the world thought of me. And how can someone love you if you don't even love yourself. We spend too much time in our lives listening to the critiques and insults of others of what's wrong with us (ironically enough from total strangers) and don't listen enough to what's right about us from people who KNOW us best.

Now if I could change one thing about people who have not learned this it would be this. Because it took me too many years. To know and understand this.

Well I didn't like the hammer blow that woman gave me when she dismissed me I wouldn't change the fact that it happened because it made me a stronger person overall in time.

When I was at university I was in a relationship with an older girl, she was working, had a good job and a good salary, she was 25. We had a fairly good relationship, however when I was due to leave Uni, she decided that she did not want a full on serious relationship. I learned that you can be in a relationship as an adult and just have fun and not have commitment, admittedly it took a lot of pain lol.

Abandoned when I was 12 years old. Took me a few years to get over it.
