Generally, yes. They spent all their youth wishing they were more relevant instead of doing to work to become so. But now that that work is beyond them they want their wishing to be considered work and to be rewarded for it.

This is largely the fault of right wing media, which has spent 40 years telling these men that they were doing research by staying tuned in to fantasies of persecution and grievance. Learning a fantasy is still learning, after all. And it was all more or less harmless when it stayed in its echo chamber, but now it is in the mainstream media where responsible journalists call it out as nonsense, which enrages those who were hoping instead for sympathy and validation.

Sheesh I can't say all of them, but some of them are a little too slimey for me too, and I think it's just because they wish they turned back time and relived their moments. Which is understandable, but I don't think they realize how gross and slimey that is
