In terms of physical baggage, more likely chance of having kids and with this comes the reality that the male takes a backseat to the kid and the relationship is centered around the child.
2. Beauty: Women in general have less collagen than men and greater chance of developing wrinkles and stretch marks. Collagen is what keep butts, tit firm and face looking youthful. As woman gets older this goes and she becomes less physically attractive.
3. Reproductive potential: By the time a woman his 30 she has already loss 90% of the eggs she was born with at birth. At age 35 a woman is deemed AMA with associated pregnancy complication such as miscarriages, GDM, pre-eclampsia, and placenta insufficiency.
4. Less adventurous and cheerful of life: As a consequence of working 9-5 job and bad past relationship, older women tend to be less adventurous and fun to be around and would prefer to be home bodies.
5. Less appreciative and impressed: younger woman tend to be more grateful and appreciative of gifts/presents while older women up their standards and expect a lot more from men to be impressed.
6. Tend to rush relationship more into marriage/babies: Older women know they have to move things along fast to get a man to commit to them before another potential mate comes along with a much better offer. This means that women often try to rush the relationship very often into marriage. Meanwhile a younger woman perceives herself as having all the time in world to start a family and tend to take things more slowly.
Probably because they can't get away with dating a twenty year old, or perhaps want a mature woman who doesn't look like a mummy.

2) Men's egos are fragile and they're constantly wary of not being useful anf being abandoned. So they want a woman who needs them. It takes away a lot of their anxiety. That's normally younger women with limited life experience that they can help in some way.
3) Men want a good 'deal'. If they have to deal with the down sides of a woman they want to maximise what they see as benefits. Either way it's better to buy a 18 year old slave than a 25 year old one and better to have a 35 than a 45 etc. The energy levels are very different and you can groom them to behave how you want them to a lot easier.
Some men want women the same age and some want women older. The reasons are different. But for the men who want young women... they're looking for a servant to groom and show off to other men. Theyre generally insecure and struggle to look after themselves without help.

I think you know the answer. Men have always found youth and fertility sexually attractive. As a woman ages, she loses youth and fertility until at an age she's basically infertile. Sexual dynamics works very differently for men and women, its a double standard as old as nature itself. I think there was a study conducted where men and women of increasing ages were asked to rate the age group they would find most attractive as a partner. While the women rated men who were few years older than them, the men consistently rated a woman in her early 20s as most attractive.
Because women are valued for things that are better in youth.
Innocence.
Beauty.
Fertility.
Even when we are talking about a 60 yo with a 45 yo woman, these thoughts are subconscious and hardwired biologically in us.

Okay so the reason had to do with alliances and reproduction. A man can pretty much reproduce his entire life. A woman can't. So for reproduction the man's age was secondary to the woman's, she had to be young enough to give birth. As for alliances you needed a ruler or his heir.
