How can I show support to a person who loves serving people?

I'm talking with someone who recently opened up to me that he loves volunteering and community service. I don't have a problem with that. He says he likes me but wishes that I came earlier in his life, before having other priorities like serving the masses. What should I do to make him feel that I can support him and his passion for people?

The question here is why you would want to help him in his passion to serve people What is your motive behind this desire to help him?

Will this support be temporary until you decide that you can no longer (or don't want to) support his service to others?

You can tell him directly that you would like to support him but I believe that you would not really be motivated since it is not something that you have been considering doing out of your free will but were more motivated to do to please someone.

See what he thinks about you helping him for a while but I don't know if it is going to make much of a difference to him.
