Have you met someone who’s almost exactly like you, just the opposite gender?

Question

For example: if you’re male, have you met a female who is basically a female version of you? (And vice versa)
What did it lead to? Did you become close to them? Date them? Hate eachother? How did that relationship/friendship pan out?

Yes, if I meet a beautiful girl that has a lot of the same interests as me , it makes me want her even more , so I will usually go for it. She doesn’t even have to be that hot , because having those similarities with someone makes them even hotter to me. So it just goes to show looks aren’t really that important , they are somewhat, but not 100 percent. I dated some girls’ that some of my friends’ considered her to be average, and asked me why am I dating her? You could do so much better , she isn’t that hot? And I would say well she is hot to me and her and I have a lot in common , so I’m sorry you don’t find her that attractive , but she is attractive to me , so that’s all that matters. Sadly some people act like looks are the most important thing and little do they realize they are wrong , Most hot girls’ I have dated were selfish backstabbing whores , so go have fun with that shit , if that’s all you are after is her looks. Beauty is only in the eyes of the beholder. So if she has a lot in common with me and has a lot of the same interests as me , I don’t care of other people consider her average , She isn’t average to me

I think I'd really benefit from that. Someone to get along with and enjoy the same stuff, whether or not we date would be irrelevant. I spent my first eighteen years alive without much female presence and didn't date until I was twenty, so hanging with women in some sort of capacity has been something I'm interested in. I mean, my best friend of four years is a woman but we're not exactly alike. I'm not sure I've ever met anyone identical to me, but I think it would be an enlightening and validating experience hopefully.

I think I did. It was funny.
I'd say things and he'd look at me dumbfounded because he was thinking the same thing. Or I would use a hypothetical name to talk about someone and he'd be thinking of the same name.
Apparently we shared a nickname to, both given by our siblings, and we shared some interests in music.
He was very open-minded, I liked that.

The more I talked to him, the more he got interested in me.
He's married though, so I wouldn't go for it, but it was fun getting to work with him for a while.

I've seen the weird connection you describe but I think it's  highly subjective and essentially biased  because we want to see what it pleases us to see. So when there are similarities we tend to praise them and elude the differences.
