Today I ran into a guy and his birth name is Heather. His mom and dad named him Heather. The guy was in his early 40s

I just had to talk to him for a few minutes about his name.

Then I started think. How many people have the opposite gender name?

I know there are names like Kelly, Jamie, Glen and a few more that have been used as unisex names.

But I never meet a guy named Heather before today

Eh sometimes I feel bad cause we gave our kid an "opposite gender" name, but it's a really versatile one and a family name, and gender of names can change over time anyway so.. I don't know if they really are opposite, just wrong time or place.

Anyway I first started liking that kinda thing when I met a boy named rose. Fucking beautiful name for a boy too, like Beau or Emil or Fin. But he got shit for it because rose was a flower so it was a "girl name." 🥀

yes i currently work with a lauren. i have no idea why guys are named lauren but um it happens. i've heard ashley too but have never personally known a guy ashley.

Yes, I have. There are two unisex names where I live. But in these cases, they're never used as a first name, they're always the middle one.
