First of all, Melanie is a pseudo name.
the story: I was hit by this old ass creepy man when I was like 16 and he asked for my name and Melanie was the first name that came to my mind lol (after that I ran for my life) since that I always use it tho

Anyways in my office is a woman named Melanie and like she is awesome, we might become friends but it's hella weird to me to say that name Melanie to someone else

And well I have never met someone with my Name, like I met people who had my Nickname as Names but not my name name

When I was a kid. It was exceedingly rare. As my name was not at all popular. In high school. I worked in the office for credits. So, I saw all the student files. Only one other kid. In a school of over 2,000 had my name. But he was in a lower grade level. So, I only came across him once or twice.

At some point my name became much more popular. So, I come across guys in their early 20's and younger with my name. Which always seems weird. Because it was always so unusual to find someone with my name. I didn't get to become used to it in childhood like a Dave or John would.

However, my name is still pretty uncommon. So, is my last name. Making me the only person in the world with my first an last name combined. At least as far as I can tell with web searches.

Never meet them but was on my way home from work one day and everyday I had to pass the afterlife casket and monument company. I’ve passed this establishment twice a day for 10 years and never paid much attention until this one day they were loading a large granite stone onto the truck for deliver and sure enough there was my name not just first and last but the middle name as well. Yes. Went to grade, middle and high school with him. No, we were never friends or particularly good buddies, he was just kinda there. Or I guess from his perspective I was just kinda there since I was mostly a loner. Although he spelled it one letter off from mine so I guess it doesn't really count. It IS my name just not the anglicized version like mine is.
Also there are multiple actors and musicians with my name. Again, none anglicized with the one letter changed.

My real name sucks, though. It's probably one of the Top Five "gayest" sounding names for men out there. I mean, it's not as bad as Marshall Mathers, which sounds even gayer, but then again, I'm not Eminem.

I work with 2 guys in my department with my same 1st name. Fortunately we have different last initials. Some others refer to us by what state we're from. We've had long discussions with each other & the others about what to call each other. We usually refer to each other with 1st name, last initial.
