• You both can talk for hours about anything and everything, without getting bored
• There's no such thing as an "awkward silence" between you both. When you've run out of things to say, you can just sit there quietly and enjoy each others' presence

I think the feeling you can just be yourself without filtering is huge. And it can be either platonic or romantic realtionships. I had one occasion when it really was just our eyes meeting. It lasted 3 years.
