Basically wasting food but they did eat a small portion of it but didn't finish it. and instead of boxing it up and taking it home they have the rest thrown out.

Not a deal breaker because it's something that can be easily remedied. I feel like that's one of those learnt behaviours. Like they grew up with their parents doing this and don't know any other way.
The only time I throw out food is if I know it won't be good cold or reheated.
Is a red flag for me bc if happens regularly, seems rlly wasteful. Partly just cuz I grew up poor that kinda thing bugs me. It's not a deal breaker tho I would just like them to practice better portion sizes so they don't have to throw so much away every time.

Some people just don’t like leftovers , it’s probably how they were raised , I would try to stop them from throwing it away and tell them I will eat it , I wouldn’t break up over it , it’s just food , so much food is thrown away and wasted every day so i wouldn't make a big deal about it. I would just think Damn it must be nice just to waste food like that you must of been born with a silver spoon in your hand lol
I understand it happens sometimes, and obviously some thing aren't worth saving but I hate wasted food. And I definitely bring it up in the beginning that I want us to be conscious of it.
When I lived with my dad I used to take leftovers, usually I'd make them into some kind of soup and take it to a church or I'd just pass it out when I was driving through areas with homeless people.
I know it's a bit of a cliche but it's easy to forget when you're doing well that most of us are really only one too many bad things happening to us away from being homeless.
I've had times in my life where if my car decided to have an issue, I would have been completely fucked.
So just out of principle I think wasting food is extremely dishonorable.
Not a big deal. I'm a picky eater so I totally understand not finishing food or throwing it away cuz it was bad. I do try to offer it to someone else first tho. My husband and sons are like a trashcan so they'll usually take it off my hands lol
You don't find it wasteful to throw out food?
Just a single trait from education, my bestie has been educated like that, she is educating her kids like that. It annoys me, yes, because I haven't been educated like that. but then I also know very well that this doesn't define a person, or else she wouldn't be my bestie since 3 decades :)
Eh, that’s their wastefulness. I like to have leftovers. It’s not a dealbreaker if that’s their preference.
I just prefer not to waste. Not going to break up with someone over it or anything.
I don't think I could have married my wife if she didn't understand the idea behind not wasting good food.
I’m thankful my partner doesn’t do this. It definitely would be a deal breaker.
I don't like being wasteful so I would probably have a pretty serious discussion about it.
Could be if it is a ridiculous amount and always. Not as bad as those who save leftovers and let them rot inside the back of the refrigerator, though.
I don't throw away my wife's food, she shouldn't throw away mine. I don't like waste.
If she did it at every meal, yes that's a deal breaker for me. Luckily nobody in my family does that
It bothers me.
