As a single mother is it essential to go back to school/college? Will it benefit your kid in the future?

It’s not essential but depending on your state, going to school will give you financial assistance while you have a Newborn/toddler that can lessen the stress of PPD/childcare. A degree shows dedication and ambition for success but it DOES NOT guarantee a stable/higher income. I have a background in auto finance, marketing/sales, criminal law, and immigration law that totals up to 7 years.

I’ve built my resume up and haven’t encountered an issue finding a job in many fields and getting paid well. My biggest issue rn that has self employed/student as a 29 year old is lol the decisions I have made relationship wise and lack of childcare. Sooooo basically if you’re thinking about entering the medical field or getting a essential degree for a specific job you should get it. If you’re getting a bachelor’s in business or something general don’t waste your time. If you can’t get financial assistance, just build your resume up with experience. A child can learn discipline through other examples, it’s best to show them young as well a degree in today’s generation is not the same as it was years ago and does not guarantee success. Financial planning and multiple sources of income will…. So tired I’m sure this is a run on sentence type of answer but I’m a single mom so 👍🏼

There are some pros and cons to going back to school for your child. The one major pro is you will land a better job but the major con is you may miss out on the development of your child and they might be neglected while you work and study.

There’s a lot of things to consider. It could be beneficial as well as detrimental even if you’re trying to make things better. One depending on how old the kid is you’ll end up spending a lot less time w the child. Not sure who would raise the child during that time. Plus the child not having a father around, could be even worse. Maybe he is there for his child I don’t know. You’d miss out on a number of things in your child’s life. Also how long would you go back to school for? How will you take care of your bills that you have now? Do you live on your own? Depending on. What you go to school for it could make things worse for a relationship as far as for you. There’s a lot to cos diet.

If you have a college degree in something that will enable you to find a better job then iy absolutely will enefit your kid. You will be an example for him as well I finished college at night and my kids saw how hard I had to work to do it. I know it made an impression on thrm.

For starters it will set a good example on your child/children. Showing them how important a college degree will be for quality of live purposes.


As for you in general, having a degree will mean you could get a better paying job. Making your life easier

Essential? No. Depends on where you're at now & future expectations.

Advisable? Yes. No matter where you are. Work up the salary chain while you're young.

It's not essential but if it is something that you feel is important for you to do to support them then you should.
But on the same time there are plenty of less educated people who can teach us a lot too.
