Married women of GaG, would you appreciate being complimented by a man? If so, how would you tell if the guy had a thing for you?

Imagine the scenario, you're doing social stuff in a group of adults of varying ages and skill sets. It's a fun activity and a guy tells you he likes (xxxxx) about you or something you do/did they appreciated. Would it matter if the guy was married or not?

Would attractiveness, as in age/appearance preference (s) matter (as activity is something in common so there is that), or is it more about the way it is delivered more appealing?
