Option 1: 19 years old, no stable job, no savings, doesn’t drive a car, likes to wear revealing clothes, enjoys partying, tall, curvy blonde

Option 2: 27-28 years old, stable job with a good position, savings, owns a car, dresses modestly but feminine, doesn’t party, shorter, petite, brunette

Why do women still try to measure their value as a woman by the same factors they use to measure a man's value?

When it comes to human attraction, things are no different today than in the past. The things that attract men and women to each other are still rooted in reproduction because that's how the human species perpetuates itself. It's coded in our DNA the same as it was thousands of years ago. While they may manifest in different ways now, the things that make a man desirable to a woman are the traits than make him a good provider and protector (strong, tall, smart, capable, ambitious), and the things that make a woman desirable to a man are the traits that make her a good mother (kind, nurturing, unselfish, physically healthy).

Being a provider is not what men want in a woman, which is why a woman's education, career and savings are of no interest to us. In fact, a highly educated career woman can be a red flag because women like that often prioritize their careers above family. As an aspiring father, I want my children raised by their parents, not by paid daycare workers.

That's what I was referring to when I said today's women try to measure their value by the same factors they use to measure a man's value. I sometimes feel like today's women have lost sight of what men actually want in a woman. The reason I didn't answer your poll is because by the descriptions you provided I can't tell which is the better woman. Option 1 is likely not a good option, but I can't really tell because the description doesn't address the things I as a man actually care about in a woman. The same is true of option 2. The characteristics you chose to include are largely irrelevant to any man seriously shopping for a life partner.

I agree with you. I have a very traditional view on this and I think men should stick to being providers and women should stick to being nurturers. Sadly the gender roles are often reversed. I’m typically nurturing, sensitive and I can’t count how many times I was told to „man up”. My ex expected me to be the provider, thankfully I’m with a masculine man now so I can stick to my true, feminine nature.
