What does it mean if a guy says that he’s down with whatever?

So my best friend it’s trying to set me up with one of his friends. I haven’t met the guy yet but according to him, he’s an older guy (I’m in my mid twenties, he’s in his early thirties) who is pretty level headed and easygoing.
He wants to meet in person in a public area and get to know me first. I am reluctant about it but my best friend has told me that he said to him,”Tell her that I’m down with whatever and she doesn’t need to feel uncomfortable. I’m tired of being used by hoes. I want a real woman who loves me. I’m not angel though.” I don’t really know what he means by that. Am I overthinking things? Should I give him a chance or is it a red flag?

It typically means he's open to doing whatever you suggest or whatever the situation calls for. He's flexible, easygoing, and not particularly picky.
