This interaction just seems like small talk in my opinion, would need to know more like if he had follow up questions or comments to keep the conversation going.
yes it's not just this much. Actually we met two months ago he lives in the US and I was visiting there so we met there. I came back to my country. After then we chat almost everyday. The problem is we live in different countries so there is time difference and the chat is not going like full day but we are in touch almost everyday. he asked about my hobbies and also asks what I am doing during the day
