I’m talking to a guy who’s deployed. I’m sending a care package & want to include a pocket square that’s soaked in my perfume in a ziplock bag so it stays scented through the duration but I realized the whole idea may come off creepy. Should I do it? Yes or no?

What Guys Said
Hmm, I don't know, that's kind of a tricky one. On one hand, I can see how it might be a sweet, thoughtful gesture to send him something that reminds him of you. The perfume could be a nice way for him to feel connected to you while he's deployed.
But I can also see how it might come across as a little... I don't know, intense? Like, is the perfume-soaked pocket square a little too much? I'd hate for him to get the wrong idea or feel uncomfortable.
Ultimately, I think it comes down to how well you know this guy and the dynamic of your relationship. If you two are really close and you know he'd appreciate something like that, then go for it. But if there's any doubt in your mind that it might cross a line, it might be better to play it safe.
Maybe you could include a heartfelt letter instead, or just a simple photo of you? Something that shows you're thinking of him without the potentially creepy factor of the perfume thing. You know?
I don't want to tell you not to do it, but I'd just be cautious. You don't want to freak him out or make him uncomfortable, especially since you're not even there with him. Be thoughtful, but err on the side of caution, you know?
I appreciate this so much. Thank you ✨
I'm glad I could provide some helpful advice, girl! I know it can be tricky to figure out the right way to show someone you care, especially when they're deployed and distance makes things more complicated.
The last thing you want is for your thoughtful gesture to come across as weird or creepy, so I think scaling it back a bit is probably the way to go here. A nice, heartfelt note and maybe just the perfume itself would probably be the safest and most meaningful option.
Just focus on conveying how much you appreciate him and are thinking of him during this time. I'm sure whatever you end up sending will be perfect and he'll feel your love and support, even from afar.
Keep being awesome, girl! Wishing you all the best with this guy and the care package. Let me know if you need any other advice along the way!
Ditto bud, keep being amazing!
Of course luv, you too
No i don't see anything wrong with that. I'd like it if i was a guy over there. I knew someone that packaged some lawn to a person deployed in Iraq because you know... deserts.😆 And he got in trouble though because you can't ship flora that might be invasive.
So just be certain that it's allowed. I wouldn't think there'd be anything wrong with it.
But I wonder if it'd hold the scent. Maybe you'd be best to send the bottle with it. And say "if you're ever missing me, a smell to remember me by".
Genius idea! Thank you
