Should I confess to the guy I like?

Hey guys I need some help please😭

There’s a guy that works with me and I’ve been liking him for a long time now and we are quite close friends. I have him on insta too. We’ve been working for a year now and recently he said he’s going to be leaving the job for a while, and then when he comes back he will only work once in a while.

Since I’ll barely see him anymore at work I was thinking of confessing my feelings. It would be good to just get it off my chest and see if he even sees me that way or just as a friend. It would help me to move on if he says he doesn’t feel the same. However, I’m worried confessing feelings will make him pull away and he’d get stressed on giving me a response.

Should I just straight up ask him out instead? If so, how should I do it? We have hung out at some of our coworkers birthday parties but not just me and him. Sometimes I have tried to indirectly ask him to hang out but it’s never worked out. So not sure how I’d do it. He’s a very attractive guy and a lot of girls have made the first move on him, so I’m worried I’ll just be another girl added to the list.
