I spoke to a guy on a dating app and he said “so how come you’re still not married?” Don’t you think that’s rude?

It's a legit question... if he's looking to get married. Are you not married because you're against marriage? Or maybe the right guy hasn't come along yet. Or maybe you've concentrated on your career. That kind of info can help a guy decide if he wants to date you.

You're offended because you take it as a criticism, which maybe it's not.

Yeah it depends on your perspective.
As in, for a woman it can sound rude however it wasn't.
He just had his own standards and criterias set basis which he asked that question.

don't take emotions as a set in stone thing. emotions are there to inform your behavior. so don't ask if you should be offended. listen to yourself. do you feel offended? if so, what's that feeling trying to make you do? will you benefit from that or not? that's the correct train of thoughts with emotions. not just act upon them like you're a leaf in the wind.
