Contacting someone you barely know after 10 years?

Would it be weird to message a guy whom I barely spoke to over 10 years ago? We've only exchanged a few words and kissed once when we were both drunk about 12 years ago, but he always stares at me when we pass each other somewhere. We find each other attractive, that's for sure. Would it be odd to ask how he's doing after such a long time and maybe ask him out? We are basically strangers, but he definitely knows me. I know it's kinda stupid but still...

Is it really that weird to reach out to someone to ask how they're doing? I wouldn't obviously ask him out straight away.

Date out of the blue would be weird.


But you can start by saying hello and “I can’t believe its you” and all that stuff


Once he’s established remembering you then you’re no longer strangers


You can proceed to see how he’s been if he’s single and suggest catching up


If at no point he objects you know its doomed if not you’ll basically have your date
