Making destinations a surprise for women?

I've been watching virgin river on Netflix and I noticed Jack always tries to get Mel to go places, but doesn't tell her what or where exactly and she doesn't necessarily want to go initially. Now with that being said maybe that explains what I have no luck getting women to go places because I just straight up ask if they want to go this this place. Maybe I should leave a little mystery to it and make the destination more of a surprise? I don't know why women are always so reluctant to going places

Hmm, I don't know man, surprising women with secret destinations doesn't seem like the best approach to me. I get that it might work for the characters on that show, but real life is a little different.

The way I see it, most girls just want to feel respected and have a say in what they're doing.
