I was on a date with a man who I've been writing to over a year on a language website. So when I met him (for the 3rd time) he asked me about my husband. I think this had been on his mind for a long time. When I explained I was no longer married, I asked him about himself. He looked it up on his cell translator and that's what it said. So I didn't think much of it, but I guess it means he does not see himself as a candidate for marriage, or that he is good for it.

Pretty much means he isn’t capable of being loyal , and not capable of staying committed to just one girl , he just likes the convenience of a girl and prefers to stay single. Or it could mean he was married before and it didn’t work out for him , so he gave up on marriage all together , and realized he is better off staying single

It's him admitting that he's not capable of settling down with you. Mostly because he doesn't value you enough. Other times it's because he's broken and knows it, so he's sparing you the hardship of failing at a serious relationship with him.

This was in response to a question he had asked me. He said, "Oh, I have a question for you! Where is your husband (or what about your husband)? And I explained I was no longer married. Then I asked him if he had ever been married, and that's what he said.

That’s what he showed me on his phone. The translator is normally correct. I did ask him if he had ever been married, and that’s what it said. I just said “0h…” but I should have asked more questions! He seems very easy to get along with.

The translator is probably correct with the word for word translation. But the context of the questions being asked and answered could still be lost in translation. Make sense?
