Yes, it's very possible. He could be a guy who has no interest in being married or even in a committed relationship, but he can still see that you have qualities that would be desirable to a man who did want those things.

Above all comments someone could say… saying ‘you’d make a good wife’(husband) but then not want to be with you is more horrible than if they’d said.
