Because he knows you are an all around good person , once he got to know you , he saw a side of you that most people wouldn’t know about you unless they really got to know you , He was your friend for a reason , he was your friend because he likes who you are as a person. I don’t know what I am seeking… In the past month only, I have been asked out by a few very desirable men, but It takes me a certain vibe - to get interested, which If I don’t feel, I don’t like to date.

So, I have very high quality men from my real life unanswered in my DMs right now.

I don’t know why.

I would love to be in love, but I need to feel that person is going to feel right…

What I look for - is a feeling, which will make me willing to pick him over others , to date and get interested in.

Unless once parents pressure you, there should not be any pressure in finding once true partner. It takes time but also willingness. And that feeling you are referring to, I understand that, because like you, I had that mindset until I found my wife. But it’s a long road ahead if you are not willing to date nor know what you want because time flies and life situation changes, and personal issues may arise along the way. That's something I totally ignored when potentials were surrounding me and life choices and unexpected incidents transformed my life, that when I finally found my love, I was super glad that I found someone who loved me for me with all my perks and quirks.

Like you many want to be in love but are pushing that opportunity and possibility further down in time which to me nowadays is a scary journey of the unknown.

Do you think knowing that you have all those potentials in your life today and possibly more will come down the line, has made you consciously or unconsciously, more wilful to put the effort to finding what and if you are seeking potentials other than just that feeling? And without matching with potentials how do you know if you will receive that feeling you sought after, particularly that one is better than the other?

Also, I’m keen to know the feeling you want, did you receive this from your guy friend before he left China?

I think what makes me confused also - is that I have a hard time choosing who to date.

I can’t concentrate on many people at the same time.

Yet, those guys are mostly very interesting, a lot of them who are really very desirable for me.

They all want something meaningful.

Either I date all of them or I can’t choose which one…

Handsome? - They are.

Smart? - They are.

Looking something meaningful? - They are.

Successful? - They are.

I was a lousy housewife. I passionately hate house chores... but somehow no one even asked me about it. And I was a wife for 20 years, we split things evenly and it worked, lol

I think most guys have a different criteria in mind and mental and physical compatibility are on the highest level. Who would want to have a cooking wife if they can't talk to her about anything they are interested in?

I never understood this Western idea of the traditional housewife as a domestic servant and I often question if it's accurate. I could see it maybe being the case for the uneducated, blue-collar types who might have had to slave away all day at a factory or mine requiring, for practical reasons, a housewife to take care of almost the entirety of the homemaking.

Yet it makes no sense to me for a more educated class where both the husband and wife are well-rounded and overlap greatly in skillsets and don't need such a radical division of labor resulting from such skewed differences in skillsets.

After all, we can simply hire a maid if no one can cook or clean. It's a lifetime of interesting conversations that I saw as the most desirable quality in a wife and what I found in mine, and for that I never wanted her to quit her career as a book publisher and editor since a lot of the interesting conversation material comes from that passion and career.

So I don't really think these so-called "tradwives" are even really being traditional, unless they're being like traditional peasants, perhaps. If the man is reasonably successful then the tradition as I see it is more like a "king" and "queen" or "lord" and "lady", and neither a queen is a domestic servant to a king nor a lady to a lord.
