How much time is considered normal to be interested in someone before committing?

Some people even commit too soon or don't commit at all, so what's the way it should be for the most part, if you are in a relationship how long did it take before the next step after meeting each other? 🤔

During the talking phase leading up to a relationship, things should be consistent and not moving too slowly or too fast. Generally it's a good rule a thumb that you should text consistently. (Not constantly. CONSISTENTLY). You are not confused about when you will hear from them next or when you will see them again. Hanging out once a week is perfect for the first month of talking. After that 1-2 times a week is great.

Try to learn about whether this person is even ready for a relationship or on the same page as you. But generally, by 2-3 months, things should be secure enough that you can talk about dating seriously.

Personal story of mine. Met this guy shortly after my relationship ended. I wasn't ready to date again and just wanted to casually talk to people. He felt the same way. But I felt really connected to him. We hung out for a couple days, but he wasn't from my city so we texted for a month. We hung out a couple times after he moved to my city but his effort was completely different. He used to hit me up a couple times a day, and now he was reaching out every couple days. Leaving me on read, saying how I was moving too fast/ how he was hurt in the past, scared to commit, and needs 8 months of "talking" to decide if he wants to date me. That is complete bullshit. I don't care if it's true. But that isn't worth my time. He wasn't as invested as I was. And that still hurts.

But the best thing you can do for yourself is figure out who is genuinely interested in building something real and don't let distractions waste your time. Don't let people suck you into this trap.

I'm just speaking for myself, as soon as I claim to have a boyfriend I'm going to be pretty committed. I think it'll be very disrespectful to not commit myself and to have side pieces yet say I'm in a relationship. So some people never commit, but I think I'm a bit better at that than other people. Although I am very very bad at being good person I'm good in that department.

Don’t think there is any rule here , especially not from my personal experience or understanding. Both go along at the speed that is comfortable. I have generally always let the woman decide it signal when they want to step up a gear but I’m happy to drop little hints too without being at all pushy , just showing my desire to either step up or maybe just set cruise control ( continuing my driving analogy 😂)
