How long does it normally take for you to commit to someone?

I have been seeing these questions about people skipping the dating stage and moving in together having own been aware of one another's existence for a matter of weeks, how long does it normally take you to feel completely ready to commit to someone?

What exactly do you mean by "commit?"

Because that can mean being in an exclusive relationship, or it can mean living together.

For me, if it goes past 3 dates it is an exclusive relationship.
To live with someone would take 6 months to a year of dating first.

I wouldn't have sex with someone unless I think it is likely to last long term, and that certainly would not be early in a relationship.
Use protection/birth control until both people are ready to have kids together.

I have. no interest in dating anyone that already has a kid from someone else so that doesn't affect me.
