I've pretty much always dated outside of my own race. I'm the first time my partner has dated interracially. I know it's 2025, but I'm worried about any potential snags we might hit.

Why would there be snags? In this day and age, it's no different than dating within your own race 99.9% of the time

Even now, not everyone is a fan of interracial dating... I've had acquaintances ask why I don't date this way or don't like this type or tell me this race and this one go really well together.
I had a friend tell me before I started dating this guy "I don't know, I think you'd be better with an Asian or Filipino man"

Notice though that I said acquaintances tho... My actual friends would never.
I'm a product of interracial marriage and I saw the snags for my parents. And in my personal dating I've seen it myself.

That's odd, acquaintances usually don't comment on such personal things as dating. I'm also a product of a mixed relationship, and in one myself. Neither I nor my mother have rarely if ever gotten comments. But I'm in America, people here tend to be much less racist

& people don't tend to be "much less racist" here. People are better at hiding it. Took me 4 years to realize my coworkers was racist. When I called her out in a comment she made she laughed and couldn't figure out why it wasn't as funny to me as it was in her head...

Aside from that my mother has horror stories from people she thought were her friends, from church members, and complete strangers. Even her own mother was initially thrilled (my own grandmother...) Hearing those things my heart broke for my parents.
On top of that my own personal experiences make me worry about what he might experience. Hopefully he's as lucky as you. His immediate family is pretty open, so he lucky on that front, and his mother already loves me. Obviously our mutual friends are very supportive as well. I just want him to be ready for an potentially off hand comments he may encounter. My ex's boss once asked him about 'Jungle fever' after meeting me a business dinner.

And yeah I mean I'm sure out of the thousands of people my mom and I have talked to, somebody has said something racist and it just flew over our heads. So I didn't want to say never because it might not be true

The two of us were talking about another coworker messing up something easy. I said "I'm not sure if that task confuses him or if he's just not smart." Which was kind of rude on my end, but her reply was "He's probably not smart, but that's common with your people." Followed by a laugh. When I told her it wasn't funny and racially insensitive she looked confused. She did apologize but I never got over it and hadn't forgiven her.

That's weird. But yeah, there's still racism around. It's really not any different than other sorts of negativity though, so not anything to worry about.
