Why do guys make certain women are single mothers?

There can be many reasons a woman is a single mother, and not all of them are necessarily a man's fault.

Sure, it's possible the dude skipped when he found out she was pregnant, but it's entirely possible she's a single mother due to divorce, the majority of which are initiated by women. She could have gotten pregnant from a ONS, and the guy never even knew.

There are also birth control failures, both the pill and condoms, resulting in unplanned pregnancy. She could have simply used a sperm donor, IVF, or she wanted a child without a relationship. She could also be a widow, or maybe they broke up before she knew she was pregnant.

I'm not blaming women for being single mothers; I'm just pointing out that they may be numerous reasons why she is, and they are hardly all the fault of a guy. We don't know everyone's situation, and aside from a horrific, criminal act of violence, it takes the choice of two people to make a child.

Some guys are only out for sex and 'good times'. Most of the time though, it's fairly easy to spot who they are. There are also plenty of women who become single mothers either as a personal choice (to live on benefits and entitlements), or who choose bad boys they either think they can change or don't think it through. Some people just suck.

It's not only men that will do that, and reading the comments has shown that. Single motherhood happens for a lot of reasons. Sometimes it's abuse, sometimes it's deadbeat dads, sometimes it's literally her own choice, sometimes it's because she picked badly knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. There are a lot of factors. It's curious that when the UK government reduced benefits available for additional children after (if I recall rightly) two kids, the rate of teenage pregnancy and single motherhood dropped a LOT. There are plenty of deadbeats, and they're usually not difficult to spot either.

There are many exceptions but in 80% of the cases, being a single mom is the woman's fault. She made poor choices and disregarded good advice.

It is her fault for choosing a guy who cannot be trusted and ignoring the advice of her parents and others who told her not to. But she was too stubborn to listen. That is what stupid women do and the reason there are so many single mothers with multiple fathers.

Regardless of the reasons during the Stone Age, if it ended 20,000 years ago and would be 99% of human history, the children of women who made poor choices would survive at a lower rate and be a dead end.

In modern times, we don't believe in allowing their children to have fewer resources and die. Therefore, their children will be inheriting their genes to make poor choices. As a result, without natural selection doing its magic by eliminating the bad, the percentage of single mothers will increase in as little as two or three hundred years.

In the short term, the qualities of "bad boys" and other sociopaths are attractive because they mimic the qualities of better men. In the past we had integrated communities so women didn't have to rely on only their own ability to tell the difference, which acted as a filter too. These days, I think you're right that there will be a proliferation of these genes and an increase in psychopathic genes. I am such a child as was supported by those systems we have in place, and it's not that I disagree with those since this isn't all rooted in genetics anyway. Where I find it to be a problem is at the sociological level rather than the genetic level. We can't wholly blame women, or men. We require integrated communities and that requires some form of social glue, expectations and value systems that are consistent and maintain the interests of both genders in marriage rather than being biased towards one gender or the other. The pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction these days. Religions used to be that glue, and while I'm not necessarily in favour of returning to those old religions and structures, it's clear that our present ideological frameworks are not fit for purpose. Darwinism will not lead to a solution because it's not wholly rooted in genetics and natural selection or other genetic selection pressures.

They do not want the responsibility of being a parent or they do not care. It does depend on the situation as it is not always black and white for who is more at fault, but both parties always will be on some level.

However, people should be careful when choosing their partners or hookups. There is always the chance of a kid happening, so you should only sleep with someone you could see being a good parent. That's the rule I follow anyway, since I could not leave a child fatherless and it leaves me with less to worry about.

Some men may not be committed to the relationship with the mother of their child. They may not want to be married or in a long-term relationship, even if they are willing to have children.
