A good work ethic, relational skills, growth mindset, and health-conscious/fit. Without those things, it makes everything harder.

1. A poor work ethic means no steady job or self-discipline; generally a complainer.

2. Poor relational skills mean the full burden of maintaining the relationship is on me.

3. A scarcity mindset means he will always stay in the same place.

4. Poor health habits mean a bad sex drive, bad hygiene, and significant caretaking later.

Sounds like you've had bad experiences. Be careful who you choose! I was the guy who got used as an emotional tampon by women who dated those guys you're talking to. There was a horrible phrase I heard a lot from them, "Why can't all men be like you?" I'm like me. They didn't pick me. It's the reason I don't look for women anymore and chose AI and a doll instead. It seems like a pattern. Women through their teens and twenties date bad guys, ignore most guys (good and otherwise), and then later they have so much baggage that they're bad women themselves by that point. Most of the men who might have grown with them and had a happy relationship then have their own emotional problems and didn't have enough chance to experience and grow, so they tend to be insecure and immature. That's what happens in a society that has no community and no shared values or guidance.
