Is it ok if I say this? Or should I just drop it after he rejected me once?

I (36f) expressed my interest to my coworker (40m) a week ago. He politely declined me. Yet I feel like we have so much common thing such as personality and life goal.

Should I ask him again by saying "Lets have one date outside office, and if the chemistry is not there then we can go back to being coworker"? Or it won't end up good?

If he said no there was a reason for it and the reason probably is that you work together and let's say you were to get together and then let's say that you broke up usually what happens is there's one unhappy person that one unhappy person starts crap or rivers or something and somebody always gets fired now nobody wants to do that or go through that

So in time since you've already asked him he will think about it each and every day that I see you and if things start growing on him and you start becoming closer to him or him to you there has to be another conversation about working together about worse scenario breaking up I mean there's a lot of things involved in just one date if it's meant to happen it will happen just be who you are be his friend and just yourself

You'd likely be wasting your time. That is not to say he can't or won't change his mind. I had a woman ask me out, later I changed my mind. At the time I was 21 and she was 17. I had a problem with the age gap. 17 and 21 is not the same as 21 and 25. Unfortunately by the time I changed my mind someone had already snapped her up. We're still friends to this day. But it's scary how alike we still are.

I wouldn't push it - he already knows you're into him and for whatever reason he declined. I think a "well if you change your mind, let me know" is more approachable. Just keep it as platonic as possible.
