If a women beats a man and calls him horrible names in a relationship would this ever be a situation for where it would be his fault for triggering her or would this be her deflecting her unresolved trauma

It sounds more like she's got issues that need to be resolved with a therapist. Nobody should be lashing out and abusing their partner just because they get angry or annoyed.

So no, it's not normal behavior and the one being abused should not feel guilt for "triggering" the abuse.

Yeah the reason it bothered me is after the breakup her friends and family framed it like I was triggering her and that’s why I was abused which I thought was really dark like this girl was openly being verbally verbally and physically abusive and people were defending it

Whether a man or a woman, nobody has the right to lay their hand on another person unless it is self defence. Of course, the other person should not be purposely hurting their partner’s feelings to evoke a reaction but that doesn’t give them the right to harm the other person.
