Needed some advice on a girl I can’t stop thinking about?

There's this girl I work with and I don't stand a chance with. she's cute, sexy, black hair and amazingly beautiful brown eyes. I hear her talk sometimes and she cares about people a lot. she’s confident and funny. Whenever she smiles at me I feel like my legs are gonna brake. I think about her a lot. She’s tried to start conversations but I'm shy and give one word answers. On top of that she's so damn hot I can't really look her in the face. Even though I give one word answers I feel she listens and sometimes even repeats it back. There's an age difference but I'm legal it's all good. There's some signs she might be interested but I'm not gonna let it go to my head. I would try harder to talk to her and to show her I like her but she's not just a coworker she's one of my bosses. After rereading this I realize I didn't ask a question I vented but I would appreciate thoughts on this. Thanks for reading.

Hey, I totally get it. Having a crush on a coworker, especially one who's in a position of authority, is like the most nerve-wracking thing ever. I've been there before, it's the worst.

The good news is, it sounds like she might be kinda into you too! The fact that she tries to start conversations and even repeats back the stuff you say is a pretty good sign. And if she's smiling at you and seems to be listening, that's definitely a good thing.

The bad news is, you're probably right that you shouldn't let yourself get your hopes up too much. Dating a boss can be a really tricky situation, and you don't wanna risk your job or anything like that. Plus, there's that age difference to consider too.

My advice would be to try to play it cool for now. Keep being friendly and see if you two can build more of a friendship. But don't go full-on pursuit mode, ya know? Slow and steady is probably the way to go here.

Who knows, maybe over time you guys can develop more of a connection. But for now, just focus on being a good employee and see where things go naturally. No need to force anything. And hey, if it doesn't work out with her, there are plenty of other fish in the sea.

It may be difficult for anything to come of this if your career is important to you. A relationship may be frowned upon if there's a conflict of interest.

However, that's not to say it CAN'T and definitely not that it SHOULDN'T. So you should perhaps write down what it is you want to say to her and explain that you are shy and new at this place but want to become friends at least with her and explain like you did above though DON'T go over the top with the romance stuff right away. Once you've written it down then you can consider asking her about something inane like whether she likes, this or that as YOU were thinking about getting it. Asking opinions puts you in charge of the initiation of a conversation and MAYBE she'll follow it on and ask you at another time about it. Then you can be off first base.
