I like flowers and I like to get them when there're not special ocassions. If I post more pictures with me and some flowers, will man get the hint?

If you want something just ask he can’t read your mind and you’re not entitled. Maybe you feel bad for asking….

If you do stuff for him without him having to ask then I think it’s fair. That you ask for something you want it he outright refuses there isn’t much you can do. But flowers aren’t that expensive but don’t expect him to read your mind.

Poor communication on little things like this lead to bigger things. Resentments. And start taking things out on someone in a toxic way.

I told my ex I like flowers when there're not special occasions. He actually listened and got me flowers. But I said this to other guy , and he said girls will just throw them away and I told him I actually keep them and he said he will buy me many flowers and then said he doesn't promise anything.

I didn't say I was entitled, but if a man will give me flowers only when he is "expected to" ( Valentine's Day, Anniversary etc. ) , that means we're not compatible. And also I like to give gifts too. I know that some guys give flowers only when they're expected to and when they want to say they're sorry, but then it doesn't mean anything anymore ( if the relationship is toxic and he gives flowers as a way to resolve the conflict and not communicating and actually trying to find a real solution ). I like to give gifts because when I give them it means I apreciate the person I give them to. I also show apreciation by being respectful etc ( but that is the bare minimum)

That’s why you need to be honest with what you want and if someone isn’t compatible. Don’t waste your time or theirs. Major difference in knowing you’re not compatible and stringing someone along trying to force them to be someone they aren’t.

Lol. Possibly not. Some guys just need to be told up front.

You can pass a flower shop and point out your favorite flower. He'll literally register it and yet still keep walking, not getting that you'd like flowers sometime in this lifetime.

You can show him pics of you holding flowers or standing in a garden or whatever. He'll register how nice you look and not take the hint that you want flowers.

You can't be a man and be unaware that girls like flowers.

If you are carrying some flowers down a street you will get at least three stranger girls asking you "Are they for me?" within a single block.

If a girl wants flowers occasionally on non special occasions than she should own an elegant vase. It is disappointing to give flowers and find them being put in a saucepan. She should make a fuss of arranging the flowers since that shows appreciation. And at some time that night there should be loving giving sex to enhance the romance.

We'll do romantic gestures if there are romantic responses and stop if there aren't.

I did the classic thing of hiding flowers behind my back when knocking on one loves door. When I presented them she said "WHAT have you done wrong?". She never got flowers again. I had had a far better response from half a dozen girls walking to her apartment.

Girls, how you receive flowers is important. The more trad you are the better.

@RavVid I don't think it's an awareness thing... sometimes it's just not on their radar at that age. (Remember you're also older than the guy she's most likely referring to.)

Also, "romantic gestures" aren't always about flowers... For example... (true story) one Valentine's my kid asked me for a dollar to get the gal he liked a flower that was being sold at the school Valentine'd Boutique... He bought the flower for her and put it on her desk (without a card or anything). So when he got home all pissed I asked if the girl liked the flower and he said she didn't answer or say anything... then he told me he didn't put a card. So I asked him how the gal would know it was from him if he didn't put a card with the flower? YOU KNOW? This kid (age 5) said, "If she doesn't know it's from me then she's not the girl for me and never will be." To this day that's the most impressive thing I've ever heard a guy say about this sort of thing.

It's not that guys aren't romantic or thinking about the girl, but not all guys "register" that the girl WANTS or deserves flowers. (Also not every girl registers that she hasn't done anything to DESERVE the flowers... but that's another story for another day.)

Your kid had a point. Good on him. Yes I am older than her guy most likely and also her guy might need to make a decision as to what to buy. Some sort gift, big card, chocolates and flowers might have been lower down and necessarily pruned off by budget.

But the valetine story with your kid is sort proving my point that he was aware at 5. A guy might think it is not to that level in the relationship yet I guess. I think "register" is being aware but we can disagree.

Yeah. But I like flowers in the talking stage too. I hope more men get the hint. And I don't mean expensive flowers. At least in my country there're cheap flowers at the supermarket. Even one flower is enough. I want to hint to them that I like them to be romantic, but I don't want to have to ask for that
