Do men like getting flowers from women?

Men enjoy respect and admiration and appreciation, especially from the women they're in a relationship with, but that doesn't necessarily need to be in the form of a gift. And even if it is in the form of a gift, most men don't really want flowers as a gift, any more than most women want a cordless drill for Valentine's day.

For most men, if they received flowers from a woman, they would appreciate the thought and gesture behind it, but wouldn't really care about the flowers themselves. We are men - flowers are not in most men's top 1000 things they're interested in, much less in the top 5 or 10. Are there exceptions? Always. But that's a handful of men out of every million.

There are things your man would love as a gift if you were to buy him something - a video game, a fancy dessert, a music CD or a Blu-Ray movie, almost any form of food, maybe a nice shirt, etc. Most men would much rather have any of those things over flowers. You likely know what your particular man is into - what his hobbies are, what his favorite foods or desserts are, what kind of clothes he enjoys, etc. That's what you should be thinking about if you are giving him a gift.

I've told my girlfriend that if she ever wants to give ME a gift along those lines, that there are a couple of bakeries that sell large cupcakes, and one of those would be great. It's not something I'd ever buy for myself, but something that I'd really enjoy. And one of them costs about 1/3 of the price or less than most flower arrangements. Other guys might prefer something else, and a very small percentage might genuinely prefer the flowers, but they are definitely the exception.

Remember: most of the things that women find romantic, men don't necessarily find romantic, but we do them for you because we want to make you happy, and that's perfectly okay. Men and women are different, and we should appreciate those differences rather than trying to make men and women exactly the same.

Agreed. We are similar, but we'll never be exactly the same and we're not made that way and shouldn't be.

Most men wouldn’t know how to respond because most men have never gotten flowers from a woman. Even compliments. Most men don’t get compliments from women so when a woman compliments a man most times they get embarrassed or don’t know what to say. I don’t mind flowers only because I have a garden full of flowers for my wife, so I can appreciate them.
