I'm not single anymore but when I was dating my partner we didn't just go get a £200 meal. First date was a coffee and a long walk. Other dates we went on hikes. We played laser tag. He went to a spa. We went on drives. We went ice skating. We raced hovercrafts. We went to museums. We went zip lining. We went to theme parks. We went to church. Vintage fairs. Airshows. Water parks. We went to balls and dinner dances. We had so much fun. We went clubbing. Line dancing. We went to the beach. Now I talk to these women and they are going on dates and they are describing the guy and the dates, it's always the same, the guy was boring the date was boring and I'm like mix it up. Do something fun, food should be after doing something fun.

Because dating is premeditated.. and boring...

Your dating is my type of dating. Spontaneous fun laughing. I don't care what it is . anything but sitting in a muggy restaurant . I would rather cook dinner.. then go do something that we will remember

The kind of things you're describing in most of the world are genuinely too expensive for most people. This is a lot of money and attention when you put it all together. The global economy is getting worse everywhere so as a result so is everyone's expenses in the world. I don't know a ton about the economy in Europe but there is no way this isn't really expensive for most people. Most places in the world most jobs just don't pay enough for expenses like that this often. Some of these aren't that expensive but some of them would cost a pretty penny. If he can do this, he's at least middle class to be doing this and a lot of people are stuck at lower middle class at best.

Well that's why the first date is so pivotal you use it to get to know each other you use the first date as both a way to find out if you wanna see more of the other person but also gather information that is useful for planning future dates if you do go out more.

It gives you ideas about things she likes or things you think she would like based on what she's told you.

If people aren't making use of that information then it means they weren't paying attention, they weren't using the date for that purpose or they just plan on using you and then moving on.

Cost has been a factor, the cost of living has exploded here and wages have not come even close to keeping pace so it’s simply less accessible to do those things than it was even 5 years ago.

No idea, I quit that game with zero proper dates, when I hung out with my girlfriend it was most just shopping and then eating but like £40 for a pizza, a glass of wine, a coke (she was 18 and I was 16) and a dessert

not everyone have the same taste, I'm not a big fan of expensive meals either as it's full of old people but to each their own. Also I grew up eating all outside meals at mcdo or Flunch so it's vastly different from 5 start restaurant XD

Before we had kids we went on some pretty cool dates, We went cross country skiing, we went to concerts and sporting events, we used to go bike riding, spend lots of time at the beach. also lots of road trips.

Why don't they just do something original something that demonstrates that you know that person better than others...
