My boyfriend blocked me for no reason?

I told my boyfriend I had bad cramps ( because I'm on my period currently) I texted him this on WhatsApp and on regular text message (iMessage) cause I wasn't sure if my texts messages are going through or not and then out of nowhere he told me to leave him alone and he said he was depressed so l asked him why and he said that he was going to block me over this and that I'm not his therapist. So I apologized for asking and telling him that I was on my period because he said that he didn't care.. he's just being unnecessarily mean to me. Can I get advice on this? I asked him to unblock me on another messaging app GroupMe because I didn't even do anything. Him and I are 22 if this helps. And I know this guy personally from high school but him and I are long distance because of college.

He could have handled that in so many ways . And he became a five year old.. See what you don't understand

There is no excuse for what he did. He could handle it ten times better.

And something happens that he has to think fast to protect you.

He can't just hang up the phone. He can't just block whatever it is going on.
He needs to take care of business and protect you all at the same time and be calm and clear headed

That gift is choice. We get to choose who we want to be in life By the things that we say and do.
And he just proved to you who he is

But the bottom line is You need to choose to love yourself and don't have anybody In this world treat you like that. You deserve more respect And especially from a boyfriend come on

I know you're not going to listen to me anyway that's okay But maybe at least try this. Let him call you

He probably actually is going through some kind of depression.

Depression makes it harder to manage relationships even if you do care deep down.

During the depression phase you’re more likely to experience high risk behaviors such as suicide or the willingness to throw an entire relationship away.

If it’s not depression and that’s just an excuse he is using. Then it might be something more scandalous such as cheating.

Either way blocking you isn’t the same as breaking up with you. So it will be up to you to sort things out. He likely will unblock you after his depression ends and he feels guilty or something.
