I want to know if dating and relationship are they same meaning?

Some folks distinguish between the two, where "dating" is still testing the waters. OTHERS will say "seeing each other" is testing the waters and "dating" is more of a steady thing, then "relationship" denotes something more lasting.

Basically it boils down to who you're talking to. Shifty folks will say "we're just dating" or "we're just seeing each other" -- with the emphasis on "just" to indicate how seriously the person considers the activity. By contrast, with "relationship" one can't say "we're just in a relationship"...

The definition of "dating" is:

"A stage of romantic relationships in which two individuals regularly engage in activity together, most often with the intention of evaluating each other's suitability as a partner in a future intimate relationship", while the definition of a relationship is

"A connection between two or more people, typically based on trust, mutual respect, love, and support".

That would be a close connection between two people, especially one involving romantic or sexual feelings and that is following the dating stage, which would be the initial stage before going into a relationship if both parties find mutual interest in each other.

A very interesting question because some dictionaries consider that dating and being in a relationship are similar lol

Examples:

"to regularly spend time with someone you have a romantic relationship with"

"the activity of having a romantic relationship with somebody, or meeting people who you might in future have a romantic relationship with"

It can be confusing right? Especially when they go official - if they were already - "what does that even mean" - obviously we know words right we're not stupid. We're just perplexed 🥳 at others

definitely not... it's a time people get to know each other but without any commitment... if it works well and they feel for each other... it could develop into a romantic relationship... but it doesn't have to...

Dating is usually considered an exploratory phase. A relationship implies a higher level of commitment.

No dating is just two people are getting to know each othe while a relationship is going towards marriage and kids at least that's how I see it

Dating is just the ‘get to know each other’ stage and relationship is when it’s exclusive and you both agreed on being together/ have confessed feelings dor each other
