How to Survive a Date when There's No Chemistry?

Step 1: Plan Ahead. Don't set up any elaborate sort of activity that takes more than 20-45min. Don't plan anything in the late evening (after ~7pm) if it's a first date because it reduces the chance of your being able to step away from the date in a timely manner. Meet up "for a bit right after work".

Step 2: Allow the full 45min before passing judgement. Sometimes people are just nervous and need time to warm up. Be courteous and gentlemanly (or lady-like for the gals reading) till the end of the time and politely step away at the end of the 45 min with a simple "Thanks for taking the time to meet up."

Step 3: Have a calendar reminder to let you know that you "need to leave for a meeting".

Step 4: DO NOT be rude or conclude with a misleading comment that includes the words GREAT or NICE or other terms that would make the person feel hopeful of a follow-up call/text or second date.

Well, I don't see that as being a particularly difficult moment in life lol. But I haven't dated much, in the US meaning of the term, so I might be overlooking something

You could say that you're looking after someone's pet so you may have to leave early. I've heard more than one woman use that line at the start of a date, just in case it didn't go well. It always made me wonder if women were aware how many other women use that line and that we know it's bull💩.😆 I mean if you're lying, and I know you're lying it's kind of pointless to lie at that point. I don't blame women for wanting an escape plan just in case.
