I’m stupid did I mess up?

I never go up to girls ever, because I’m focused on myself and just working, but the other day across from where I work the restaurant I saw the most prettiest girl ever! I looked at her, she caught me smiling at her as she was setting up the tables! I get to my job which is across hers, when I notice her again staring in my direction, my coworkers say dude she’s into you go up to her ask her out, so I did! I went up introduced myself, told her I think she was very pretty and I’d love to take her out, I asked did she have a boyfriend she said she didn’t and said sure to me asking her out. She was smiling and kinda shy, so I face her my number and she said she’d text me and it’s been 4 days and I still haven’t heard from her. Everyone tells me that she’s probably busy or not know what to text or say or that she wants me to make the first move. Like she gave no impression she was just “being nice” or not interested. So should I go up to her again if I see her at the job she’s at when I’m at work?

It’s a little tricky to say. For some people they wit respond right away because it may give the impression that they’re desperate. So they’d rather not take that chance in scarring the person off. But at the same time if someone is really into you they will find a way to talk to you regardless of how busy they are. I remember when I was stationed in the Middle East. I’d wake up everyday at 2 am just to talk to a girl back in the states that I liked. Who knows maybe she’s never really had a boyfriend so she may not know how to go about this. Maybe she’s talking to her female friends, who are probably giving her bad advice. Women are usually bad at giving each other dating advice. Have you noticed whether she’s been at work or not? Maybe something came up w family so she hasn’t been at work. When you say faced her your number that indicates to me she gave you some sort of way to contact her correct? I’d maybe ask her if she’s ok. Like a genuine, are you ok. If she’s shy like you say she is she might not be good at this whole relationship ship thing. How old is she?

Go talk to her. You don't have to ask her out again but you should try get some sort of communication going with her. you could maybe start by saying in your own way, that you usually don't go right up to people and ask them on a date, that you thought her smile was irresistible so you really wanted to approach her, try get her number so you can talk and get to know each other then go from there.

While people can be busy, if someone is genuinely interested, they'll usually find a way to communicate that doesn't involve pointless texting.

It’s not awkward. She said yes to a date. Just tell her you forgot to ask for her number last time you talked to her. If she says no, clearly she’s not interested, but at least you know.
