I spent 23 years of my life visiting churches where the pastors never agreed with my interpretation of the bible because I did not know there were groups and societies where my unique ideas were welcome.

Well that depends on your version. Your walk with God is a personal one. So that is great. I personally can't really go to a

church so I pretty much watch online. I mainly watch Cecil Pearson and Roberta Morrison and some others sometimes.

I am kind of the same way. I think a lot of pastors and people out there tell people what they want to hear in order to get a offering. Other times, I think that they get super judgmental and want to force their way on people.

Many times people don't want to hear certain things are sinful so they simply walk away from God and Christianity. Because they don't want to pick up their cross and follow him.

They just simply can't stop cheating on their wife or husband. They can't stop watching porn. They can't stop sleeping around outside of marriage and then they want to argue the Bible with you.

They want to run around and do they things they want. They don't want to be told that stealing is a sin. That getting a water cup saying you're going to get water and get soda or something else that is not only stealing but also lying.

They don't want to stop lying and telling lies to people. They don't want to hear it.

But that is on them at that point you can't help people who are like that unfortunately you can only plant a seed and give them to God.

I don't see you as stupid. If you are actually debating a preacher on the bible and he doesn't want to have a discussion on why his way of looking at it is right and everything else is wrong... You may want to find a different church.

If the bible is open to interpretation then you have to accept people will disagree with you. You also have to accept other people's interpretation may be right and yours wrong. The truth is whether you believe the passage is about love and understanding or an instruction to kill people there's always going to be a church for you somewhere.

A lot of time we just don't know any better until we have our eyes opened. Some people need to be guided by a priest/pastor, some people are able to find their own way. I believe that many religious books are intended to interpreted by the individual to give them guidance and find their own way.

I grew up going to church, I played music on stage for my church, I lead my church in prayer on Sunday mornings, I lead bibles studies for the college fellowship, I was part of the committee who chose candidates for my church’s next pastor, many of my peers and church elders said I should become a pastor.


I stopped going to church in 2017. I had my own controversial views on certain teachings. I left organized religion, but have not stopped believing in the supernatural. I’m a seeker of the truth and I believe to find the truth, one must be open-minded.


I did not waste my time and neither did you. Our experience only gives us wisdom to use for the remainder of our journey on earth.

The thing about Jesus and the truth is that God never changes. It’s important to understand that although the Word of God impacts the physical, the Word of God is spiritually discerned. In other words if you don’t humble yourself and ask God to help you understand, you will always interpret it the way YOU want to understand it, because the heart is desperately wicked and wants to justify itself. If you and another believes in Jesus then you both should agree, but if not then one of you is understanding not through God but through yourself.

Most religious institutions put their own spin on the Bible to accommodate thier own particular theological ideologies and financial motivations, tailor fitting thier point specific spin towards supporting thier enterpretations of biblical literature.
Money and social -- political influence are the name of the game, and being financially solvent helps them to influence thier own financial affluence and secure community support in their particular brand of dogma, er-- I mean ministry, I think 🤔?

No its perfectly normal to not know certain communities or groups that's just how it is but its always amazing to learn more broaden your horizons. Also if pastors don't agree with you again another normal thing since some people think differently but don't think to understand others.

See, religion is something which claims to have to complete truth (not that there's anything wrong with believing that) so that means that they have a monopoly on it and that there are many falsehoods out there versus one truth. So if someone comes with other ideas, they would want to preserve the "truth" so therefore they will reject it

I let human beings inspire my faith but I do not let them regulate cause it was the ones who wanted to regulate faith that killed Jesus and it was the ones who wanted to regulate religion who killed Anne Frank and it was the ones who wanted to regulate politics that killed Martin Luther King and it was the ones who wanted to regulate behaviour that killed Gandhi.
