Could you date a “Disney Adult”?

I’ve been seeing the woman for over two months now and I like her. She is beautiful, intelligent, and has her stuff together. However, it has come to my attention that although she is 31, she is a Disney fan. On one of our dates, I looked at her Pandora bracelet and it’s filled with Disney charms. I was helping her prepare dinner at her house and she has a few Disney mugs (one being the tea cup from Beauty and the Beast). She is in the middle of planning a Disney cruise for later this year. This morning I asked her what she was doing this weekend because I was going to plan a date and she said that she’d already bought a ticket to see Snow White.

Despite being a little annoyed, I’m wondering if her obsession with Disney is related to some childhood trauma.

I assumed this was a hypothetical question before clicking over. If I liked a girl, I could very easily overlook this. I can see how you might not like it. But... it's not like it's a big part of your relationship (I don't think). It doesn't even see like it's a huge part of her life. It's just something she likes. And I donno... if you've got a good woman, this seems like a very minor thing that isn't worth worrying about.

It doesn't sound like it's over-the-top or anything. She seems to just be a woman who still likes some Disney stuff.

So I would make these assumptions about a "Disney Adult" as you've described here. She is probably a kindhearted person, she probably believes in love, she probably is a pretty fun person (not like, let's party, but just fun to be around). Someone who tries to look on the bright side, or is a glass-half-full person.

Why? I'm not sure.

What I didn't think was childhood trauma. I'm still inclined to think not. But I have no idea. I wouldn't think so. That's dark. I had never considered that before.

This could be a lot worse. I know quite a few people that are Disney fans... so what. Imagine all the women who tolerate stuff us guys are interested in. But if you dont like it you dont have to date her.

So you’re annoyed with her love of Disney overall or just that she already plans to do something you don’t agree with? I’d say unless she acts like a kid or does anything concerning, then it’s not a big deal. Everyone has a hobby or an escape, like gaming for example. Let her enjoy Disney, seems like there’s less and less joy in this world by the day.

Does it interfere with her behaviour? Will she manipulate you and others to find her hobby interesting or else?

If not then let her have a hobby, it's no different to video games these days and is probably healthier too.
