Is a cafe date a good first date/first meetup?

I know there’s a stigma around certain places for the first time. I’m getting to know a man right now from a dating app. We’ve had a great conversation. He asked if I wanted to get coffee with him this weekend and I agreed. He picked out a place and time which I liked. A lot of times guys ask me out with no plan as simple as a place and time. Then we end up going back and forth on that for way too long.

Anyway I mentioned the stigma because if things I’ve heard. Just yesterday I saw a video of this lady saying if he takes you to the bar he really likes you, if he takes you the movies he doesn’t like you that much.

Yes, someplace they have drinks and small snacks. That way you (and he) won't be drunk unless you show up that way. Just make sure it affords some privacy and isn't too noisy.
