So this guy asked for my number and we have been texting. He’s super nice and seems like a gentleman. He asked me if I want to get lunch or get a beer next weekend. Does this mean he doesn’t like me? I usually get asked out to dinner.
It really depends on the context of the two people involved, I’ve done cafes, restaurants, theatre, lunch, a coffee n cake, ice skating, etc.
the main thing is getting together and being able to chat with just you both there, learn about each other and see if it’s date two or no follow on. An expectation of having a restaurant dinner for me would be a red flag and would just not bother.
I prefer casual dates to something expensive cause a causal date means he is integrating you into his lifestyle while an expensive date means he is setting you up for some formal purpose and event. My aunt said, the best way to measure a guy who is interested in you is by examining how he regards the minor details of your life. Cause a guy that is faking kindness or mental health will ignore the little details and only protect the big picture.
