What did you learn at the end if you're single?

I did and I'm done with dating and relationships all together.. I'm realizing that I can only love myself better than another human - I think of a relationship and the ideal , but can't see myself dealing with another relationship again.

No I haven’t , but I been on your shoes thinking what’s even the point after having my heart shit on. But I realized love is still out there , it just seems harder to find , especially these days , but it’s still out there , so I am not giving up on love of the right girl comes into my life. I am just trying to play my cards right this time around so I don’t end up with a broken heart again , so I been dating and not rushing into anything with any of them , I am upfront and honest with every girl I meet and lay everything on the table for her to decide what she wants to do , So her and I don’t start off on the wrong page. I am totally over blind siding someone because everyone assumes things that they shouldn’t assume , when you lay it on the table it gives them a choice on whether they want to continue seeing you or not , if they just want sex , be honest and say you just want sex. There is no reason to lie to anyone , if you have to lie to someone the. You are best not to continue seeing that person period , Not only are you wasting their time , you are wasting your own. So far FWB’s with some strings attached albas been the best thing to do when meeting someone new , to give the both of you time to really get to know each other before committing to each other 100 percent , it gives the both of you breathing room to really decide if you want to continue staying together or go your separate ways ways.

I'm too much of a hopeless romantic to write it off. I'm really addicted to falling in love with someone. Call me a sap but love is just such a wonderful feeling when you find it. Sorry things didn't work out for you. Things didn't work out for me either but for me that doesn't mean throw in the towel when I know there's someone else great out there for me.

I feel similar to you. I enjoy simplicity and genuine happiness. Being single has allowed me to focus on myself and becoming a better person emotionally and even physically.

I'm not saying I will never be in a relationship again... but i also won't mind it if I don't.

I've pretty much written off love. I haven't given up on relationships. I've simply shed the illusion of the Hollywood movie version of "perfection" when it comes to romance and love. I've seen what most women really are. Women aren't perfect. Neither am I.

I'm OK with 75% if that that hits most of my major criteria for a happy life. But I'm pretty ruthless about cutting women loose if they don't meet my criteria. LOL, I'm pretty ruthless about engaging with women in the first place these days. They all show you a fabricated fantasy of the best version of themselves at the outset. We all do. I won't waste my time or theirs.

no, I did more than once. the nature of bonding and as well of internal emotional healing propels us to relationship.

From the ashes grows a new forrest. From your disaster, you learn... about yourself and others... learn to rise above your own flaws, find truth and overcome.

anyone can get caught in a storm, but when you find the dark clouds that have hovered over your life, you realize you have been the source the whole time. Healing that inner child, frees up fresh energy to attact new and different energy.

and frankly, as people get to this age, they mature better and get over their own stuff... although it is a process. I've known plenty that started over at this age range and do well.

Painful, yes, it is terrible at times. it is not easy, and it is not easy healing and loving the inner child, which is a lot of what is going on.

I don't I'll ever completely write it off. But I am realistic about what's out there.

I'm not going to meet a woman who I was her first choice. The odds are I won't meet a woman without children. The odds are I won't meet a woman who hasn't been completely ran through. The odds are she's going to be fat, old, with a lot of baggage.

So once you've done that math you're just kind of holding on to a pipe dream that died a few decades ago.

Same here. It brings me a lot of stress and anxiety. I’m fine being alone but it’s just when someone comes around. I start to have hope again only need to be let down again. It’s normal. It’s natural. I get it but still. I’m always the one to be getting lead on. In the end “ I thought we were just friends?” Yeah I can’t deal with this kind of stuff anymore.

I retired from dating at 30 last year and haven't looked back - yet I have watch my fading metabolism to keep myself from getting fat despite my love of sweets - and food - happily a faith helps me stay grounded that "it could always be worse" and also "there's always, potentially, the next life that I can build good karma towards"

I am going to be 28 next year. I’ve never had an actual girlfriend before, just a couple situationships that never got past 6 months. And since turning 24 the number of dates I’ve got or even just women looking like they have some interest in me have dramatically declined. I just don’t believe that I will ever experience love. :/

No, i've only written off looking for it until healed. Once I am healthy enough to date properly ill definitely give it a good shot while taking into account the lack of compatible girls so my self esteem doesn't get hurt if they don't match.
