Unrealistic expectations (for both genders). A 150 years ago people did not go any further than 50 miles from home in thier entire life generally. That basically meant that you would meet and marry someone in that radius. With the rise of the internet and later social media, now people think they're dialed into the entire world. And they have 4 billion of the opposite gender to pick from. Ergo they're going to try to find thier exact match. We're not as small of a world as we think we are nor are there as many matches as we think there are. Add to this fact that with social media life has become one big show, one big advertisement with people that most people view thier life as well as the people that touch it as one big theatrical production, in which THEY are the STAR of. Most people today are NOT looking for a partner. They're looking for a person who can fill the SUPPORTING ROLE.

This WILL NOT get better. This will only get worse as people become more and more narcissistic.
