Why are women attracted to older men?

Question

My friends are in their 40s and get hit on by women in their early 20s. One of them is a 48 year old ex soldier and he got hit on by a 20 year old online, she was decent looking, they ended up hooking up a few times. He now dates a 26 year old.

Mainly for our maturity and wisdom , some of the younger Girls’ I have been with , said they loved how they felt listened to and heard by me , and loved how I made her feel like she was an actual human being because I was able to understand her emotional feelings compared to guys’ her age , that just thought about themselves and their dicks. So you get girls’ felt closer and comfortable and respected by me , so when it came down to intimacy and affections , I didn’t even have to ask her to please me , it just happened instantly . From my experiences in relationships through the years , I dated older and younger girls’ because I never really held age as a deciding factor , but now that I am older , I am mainly leaning toward finding a younger girl because I had way better experiences with them in my opinion. I feel younger Girls’ are wiser to go for an older guy , because of these reasons. When I was younger , I mainly thought with my dick and myself and didn’t really consider her feelings and emotions whatsoever , I was selfish to a certain extent. until I realized I wasn’t having any luck with keeping a long lasting relationship because I was selfish. When I taught myself how to remove selfishness from myself and for her , that’s when I started experiencing long lasting relationships. Most younger guys and girls’ ’ do not know how to remove selfishness , because it’s something we weren’t taught in school. We didn’t have relationship classes lol so i eventually taught myself how to remove selfishness and that’s when females’ really started to feel safe and loved by me , because I considered her feelings as well. If I could go back in time with this knowledge , I guarantee I would have less exes then I do now lol. Why I think younger
Girls’ are wise to go for an older guy , because an older guy more than likely won’t put her through constant heart break , they will have a way better connection and chemistry with each other. Most couples I know that have a big age gap , are happy as can be , and been together for a long ass time because they are both extremely happy with each other. I never had to beg a younger girl to please me , she wanted to please me because I made her feel like a human being. I’m sorry I wrote a book lol but that’s how I see things.

i personally don’t find the sweet child like face features for a partner. There’s nothing sexually appealing to me.

as a child and adolescent and a bit over.. from 5-21 I was attracted to the child like face. That’s because sex didn’t cross my mind I suppose? Who knows

but after 22 I realized I was very sexually attracted to more masculine faces. Not “old” looking, just more masculine, older than the boyish look. Stronger features, not smooth, this to me mimics a child or a feminine features, so there’s no sexual appealing and I believe there has to be sexual attraction if it’s gonna work as a relationship.

there’s a difference between looking young and looking attractive, even if that means looking older, in men attractive like better than just young.

there are some women who are attracted to that, as you see the recurring teachers going to jail for having sex with teachers. But these women are not common.

Having money is great! Considering most women search for a man to have a family with and that’s not cheap. So it’s not “gold digging” as many of you think (even though those women also do exists who just search for that) most women just want to make sure their kids will have a the best possible life they can offer, and finding a man with good financial situation seems like a promising future for the child.

I don't know, I’m personally attracted to guys the same age as me. Always have been. But who knows, that’s probably why I’m still single lol. It just depends on the woman, but older men are believed to be more mature I guess. Also, they could be getting advised by other women to date older and they’re listening to the advice. When I was younger and just getting to the age where I was ready to date (early 20’s), my mom used to tell me to date men 10 years older than me, my grandmother once told me to date men 30 years older than me. I didn’t listen to any of it.

it's not weird to find occasionally an older man attractive. to me (24) most dudes in their 40s aren't that hot anymore, but some are fineee. it's not because there's a big age difference that you can't find someone attractive and want to date or sleep with them. though i think younger women who prefer older men, not just find some interesting from time to time, i think usually are like that because either they're after rich men or they want a partner that is a lot more mature and experienced in life, maybe can be a bit about wanting a fatherly figure in life

I see the same thing all the time. I'm a 58 year old ex Army Officer who transitioned to Fortune 100 and private equity. I get hit on by women 25-40 (married and single) pretty much every time I go out. They send me drinks or just pay my entire tab. They flirt mercilessly. Even the married ones will give me their number when I haven't asked for it. Oddly, very few women near my own age are doing this to me. I haven't dated a woman over 45 in 10 years.

So I'm very interested in hearing the responses to this question. I don't get many coherent responses when I ask them in person why they are trying to hit on a guy my age. As for men, we don't have as much choice in the matter. If a woman shows interest, that is what we get. Especially if we happen to be average or less.

I'm not far from 50 but look much younger. I have been approached by women in their 20's. But when I was younger this happened much less and overall there was less women interested. Some of the older women can be quite territorial though. I remember a younger woman was talking to me and an older one physically moved her away almost picking her up from the ground in the process.
