I am asking this because well I like doing those kinds of things but I just had a date with someone who seemed annoyed that I decided to open the door for her or pull the chair so she can sit first so I began to ask myself if it's not okay to do that anymore

Some do some don't, meaning some women actually like the male opening doors for them, but keep in mind there are some women especially modern day women who hate it and for some reason and I kid you not, find it degrading and sexist. Personally, I like it when the male opens the door for me.

It just depends on the woman it's more on how we been rise as kids. Some of us have seen our dad's do those things for our mom's while others haven't. How parents treat each other plays a big roll in what we expect from our future partner.
