Life is not a Victorian-era poem and women are not flowers. I am truly a romantic but I also known that having idealized images of the opposite sex leads to unrealistic expectations, disappointments, frustration, and failed relationships. Sometimes that "flower" looks like this:

The next step is to cut another bunch of flowers and start the entire process all over again.

That is how I perceive men. Collectors of flowers and when they are no longer pristine and nice, they trash them and find newer ones. That process starts at puberty and goes practically all the way to their deathbeds.

That is the sad reality of life of a woman. A nice flower that is only good for a short while until she is no longer a novelty and that is discarded after use.

Alternatively, men could be seen as the sunlight, essential for their bloom and development. They could also be the gardeners, tending to and nurturing the flowers.

First of all women aren't delicate flowers. Not by a long shot, LOL. They come with a full range of human strengths and weaknesses, just like men.

But if women are flowers, men are rocks. Not that pretty to look at but, hard, silent, cold, not easily damaged, and useful for building a foundation that will last.
